How To: Connect and schedule YouTube Shorts in Plann
Updated over a week ago

The YouTube Shorts Integration in Plann is here to elevate your Short Video game! With Plann, you can effortlessly connect your YouTube accounts, unlocking a world of possibilities for short-form video content.

We have prepared an easy connection process so you can get started with planning your content to be shared on one more social platform!

  • A simple click on the YouTube Shorts option initiates the connection process, redirecting you to a Google Sign-In page.

  • Granting necessary permissions allows Plann to post videos directly to the connected YouTube account.

If you have pre-existing YouTube Shorts content, you will be able to find them seamlessly integrated into your Plann grid. This means all your creative content is centralized, making it much easier to catch up from where you left off and keep your online strategy going smoothly!

Just like with all the other social platforms we offer in Plann, you can also prepare a goal-driven strategy and cross-post your new content from YouTube Shorts to other platforms like Reels or TikTok with just a simple click.

We prepared a quick video tutorial to walk you through the steps of scheduling your YouTube Shorts in Plann:

Here are a few important details to pay attention to while scheduling your YouTube Shorts, to ensure that your videos will be successfully published:

  • You’ll need to have a YouTube channel to connect it to Plann. You can create your channel on either the YouTube website or the YouTube mobile site.

  • You will be required to set a title for your shorts, serving as the video description.

  • We will ask you to choose some visibility settings (Public, Private, Unlisted), and Kid’s Restriction** (Yes/No) which are mandatory for auto-posting.

  • You can set additional options like playlist, license type, category, and tags for your videos.

  • Adding a thumbnail (cover image) is not currently available for YouTube Shorts

  • The videos must be vertically oriented (portrait or square).

  • The duration should be less than 60 seconds.

  • Ideally, videos should not exceed 500 MB in size.

**Here’s a help article from YouTube to help you determine if your video is made for kids or not according to their guidelines.

Note: Once a YouTube Short is published, recreating it on Plann is not supported due to API limitations. You can, however, recreate drafts and unpublished posts.
