With Plann you can cross-post your content to multiple social platforms, and Threads is now one of them! Thanks to its text-based format, Threads is fast becoming a social media platform that every business could benefit from having. Threads is a great way to continue building on that following you already have on Instagram thanks to their integration.

So you want to know how to schedule a Threads post? Look no further, here is how you can schedule your first post for Threads:

  1. From the Home Page, click on the 'Threads' icon on the top left corner of the page

  2. If you would like to Cross-Post to different social platforms, you can select more than one

  3. Select the '+' button to add media

  4. After selecting your media, click 'Add'

  5. Craft your caption with the help of our AI Caption Generator

  6. By scrolling down the page you will see your posting options on the left side

  7. You can choose to 'Save as draft,' 'Post now,' or select a 'Custom time'

  8. If you choose to schedule the post to be published at a custom time, make sure to select the date and time

  9. Lastly, hit 'Schedule Post'

Here's a quick video tutorial on how to post your first Thread with Plann by Linktree:

Meta limits the type of content that can be auto-posted to Threads. These limits are the same across the board for all scheduling tools, including Plann, and unfortunately, we don't make or mess with the rules!

Here are the main details you need to pay attention to, to make sure your account and content are following the rules and that your posts will be successfully published.

Media Limitations:

  • 250 published posts within a 24-hour period

  • Carousels count as a single post

Image Specifications:

  • Format: JPEG and PNG image types are the officially supported formats for image posts

    • File Size: 8 MB maximum.

    • Aspect Ratio Limit: 10:1

    • Minimum Width: 320 (will be scaled up to the minimum if necessary)

    • Maximum Width: 1440 (will be scaled down to the maximum if necessary)

Video Limitations:

For videos, you'll need to make sure that your content fits these specs:

  • Container: MOV or MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14)

    • Picture Size: Maximum Columns (horizontal pixels): 1920

    • Required aspect ratio: between 0.01:1 and 10:1 but we recommend 9:16 to avoid cropping or blank space.

    • Duration: 300 seconds (5 minutes) maximum, minimum longer than 0 seconds.

    • File Size: 1 GB maximum.

Text Posts:

  • Can be up to 500 characters
